RUGS FAQ

BUYING A SAFAR RUG

What are SAFAR rugs made from?

Our rugs are made from 100% Moroccan wool.

Where can I see a rug in person?

You can make an appointment here to come see the rugs at the SAFAR Apartement in Brussels. You can also sign up for our newsletter to be the first to know when we announce speical events, pop-ups, new collections, and more.

How do I order a made-to-order / custom rug?

Simple, write us an email at order@safar-interiors.com with the dimensions, colors and patterns of your choice. If you need inspiration or advice, you can reach out to us on that address too!

Will my rug be exactly how it looks in the picture?

The short answer is no. Each rug is made entirely by hand from 100% wool, which means there will always be variations in the pattern and color. Our craftswomen work hard to make the rugs as faithful to the original design as possible but their handmade character can create little imperfections.

Can I cancel my order?

We try to get items shipped as fast as possible so try to cancel as fast as you can. If you email us before we ship out or start creating, we will of course cancel your order and refund you. If not, you will receive your order and proceed to return it to get a refund. For made-to-measure orders, you have 24 hours to cancel and get your refund; after that, the craftswomen might have been made aware or even started on your rug and it won’t be possible to cancel or refund.

When am I going to be charged for my order?

For ready-to-ship, you will be charged the total cost (which includes shipping) once your order is placed. For made-to-measure, we ask for 50% when you place your order and 50% at delivery.

CARE

Will my rug shed?

Our rugs are made from 100% natural wool so shedding in the beginning is completely normal! The rugs are though washed and dried multiple times before getting to you to eliminate most of the shedding.

How do I take care of my SAFAR rug?

Cleaning your rug often is the best way to make sure your rug lasts for decades. Dirt that accumulates in a rug can shred the fibers, which causes the rug to degenerate over time, this is why we recommend vacuuming your rug once a week.

How do I clean my rug?

If you stained your rug, don’t panic ! Wool naturally repels liquids at first contact so treat it quickly with a dry cloth and follow up with warm water and traditional soap or just a little detergent. Use warm water and traditional soap or just a little detergent to get our stain out. After a few years, don’t hesitate to have your rug professionally cleaned.
